Privacy policy
This explains what we collect when you contact us, what we do with it, and how to get it back or deleted. It is written in plain language on purpose.

Who we are
1800 College Inc., trading as 1800 College, at 123 Front St W, Toronto, ON M5J 2M3, Canada. We are an independent advising service. We are not a college and we are not a government agency.
What we collect
Only what you type into the enquiry form or tell us on the phone. That is your name, phone number, email address, the program you are interested in, how you prefer to be contacted, and anything you write in the message box.
If you go on to apply to a college through us, we will collect more than that, because applications and funding forms require it. Examples are your status in Canada, your immigration documents, your education history, and income information for funding assessments. We will tell you at the time what is needed and why, and you can stop at any point.
What we do not collect
- We do not set cookies on this website.
- We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this website.
- We do not buy contact lists, and we did not get your number from one.
- We do not sell your information to anyone, for any price.
Why we collect it
To call you back, to check what funding you qualify for, and to submit applications on your behalf when you ask us to. We use your information for those things and nothing else. We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Colleges you have asked us to apply to, and the funding bodies your application requires, such as OSAP administrators. We share the minimum that the application needs, and only after you have told us to proceed with that specific college.
We are paid a commission by colleges when a student we refer enrols. That commercial relationship does not give a college any access to your information beyond what your own application requires.
We also use ordinary business services to operate, such as email and form handling. Those providers process your information on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
If you enquire and we never proceed, we keep your enquiry for up to two years so we can pick up where we left off if you come back, then delete it. If you enrol through us, we keep the application record for seven years, because funding and enrolment records can be audited.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw consent for us to contact you. Email info@1800college.ca or call (424) 479-7335 and say so. We will act on it and confirm in writing.
Withdrawing consent partway through an application usually means the application cannot continue. We will tell you plainly if that is the case rather than letting it stall quietly.
Keeping it safe
This site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiries is limited to staff who need it to do the work. If a breach ever affects your information in a way that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will tell you and report it as the law requires.
Children
The programs we place students into are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes that affect information we already hold will be sent to you directly, not just posted here.
Complaints
Come to us first at info@1800college.ca. If we do not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
